12 UGC script templates you can adapt today
Twelve short-form script structures for creator-style videos, each with a fill-in-the-blank outline and an example. Works for real creators, founders, and AI presenters.
A good UGC script is short, sounds like speech and has exactly one job per line. Each template below runs 15 to 30 seconds. Replace the brackets with specifics, then read it aloud. If a line sounds written, rewrite it.
The problem-solution scripts
1. The frustration fix
"[Annoying situation]. I was so tired of [pain]. Then I found [product]. Now [specific result]. Link's in my bio."
Example: "Sunday scaries hit different when you have 60 unread emails. I was so tired of dreading Monday. Then I tried [tool]. Now my inbox is clear by 9. Link in bio."
2. The "I didn't expect this"
"I only bought [product] because [low expectation]. But [surprising thing it did]. I didn't expect [specific detail]."
3. The comparison
"I've tried [alternative 1] and [alternative 2]. [Product] is the only one that [difference]."
Keep this honest. Name the real difference, not a vague "better".
The demo scripts
4. Three-step demo
"Here's how I [outcome] in three steps. One, [action]. Two, [action]. Three, [action]. That's it."
Show the screen or product on each step.
5. The before and after
"This is [before state]. This is [after state]. All I did was [product/action]."
6. The feature nobody uses
"Most people don't know [product] can [feature]. Here's how it works."
The trust scripts
7. The honest review
"Okay, honest review after [time]. What I love: [one thing]. What I wish was different: [one real drawback]. Would I buy again? [answer]."
A real, small drawback increases credibility.
8. The customer story
"[Customer name/type] was struggling with [problem]. They started using [product] and [result]."
Only use real customers with permission and real outcomes.
9. The objection killer
"'[Common objection]' is what I thought too. Here's what actually happened."
The curiosity scripts
10. The secret
"Nobody talks about [insider fact] in [industry]. Here's what's actually going on."
11. The myth
"Everyone says [common advice]. It's wrong. Here's why."
12. The "day in the life" tie-in
"Day [n] of [routine]. Today I used [product] to [action]. Here's how it went."
Writing tips that make templates sound human
- Contractions. "It's", "don't", "I'd". Nobody says "it is" on camera.
- One idea per line. If a sentence has a comma and a "but", split it.
- Specific over general. "Saved me 40 minutes" beats "saves time".
- Cut the first sentence. Start where the story starts.
- Read it aloud once. Rewrite any line you stumble on.
Matching script to format

|---|---|
| Talking head | 1, 2, 7, 9, 10 |
| Screen recording | 4, 6 |
| Split or slideshow | 3, 5, 11 |
